Man left with serious facial injuries following assault in Friars Street, Sudbury




A man was taken to hospital following an assault in a town centre, which left him with serious facial injuries.

Police were called around midnight on Saturday to reports of a serious assault in Friars Street, Sudbury.

The ambulance service was also at the scene.

The man who suffered serious facial injuries was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and robbery.

He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has since been released on bail with conditions to return on October 24.
