Mum picked to inspire others
A mum from Halstead who lost two-and-a-half stone has been chosen as the face of a national advertising campaign for a new weight loss regime.
Charlotte King, of Cherry Tree Close, began her dieting bid in March after the birth of her son Samuel.
She joined Glow Fit – a new healthy eating and exercise group with classes in Halstead, Sudbury and Great Cornard run by coach Karen Perkins.
By September, she had lost two-and-a-half stone and dropped from a size 16 to a size 10.
Charlotte said seeing her before and after pictures on the Glow campaign leaflets had given her a confidence boost.
“It is quite amazing to see the transformation,” said the 28-year-old.
She was chosen as the face of the new 2015 advertising campaign after her before and after shots were spotted by the company.
Charlotte, who works as an accountant, was determined to reach her target weight before returning to work in October.
She said Karen had inspired her to keep going with healthy recipes and fitness tips.
“I felt like the old me again,” she said. “I was starting back at work and I wanted to go back how I was remembered.”
Glow Fit operates weekly classes which begin with a weigh in and nutrition advice before a 45-minute exercise class.
Charlotte put her transformation down to Karen and the friendly environment of the group who attend the class at Ramsey Academy, Halstead.
“Karen is just so inspirational,” she said. “She has always got a supportive word of advice.
“Everyone was really encouraging and wanted to know how I had got on.”
