Hadleigh's Sarah Rand Road play park targeted in criminal damage as nails and shards of glass were glued to the seats of swing set
Nails and shards of glass were found glued to the seats of a swing set in a Hadleigh play park.
The damage was carried out overnight between Wednesday, October 6 and Thursday, October 7, at a play park off Sarah Rand Road.
The sharp objects were reported to be glued to the seats of the swings in the park. They have now been removed and cleared away.
Sergeant Louisa Masterson said: "This is a senseless and, frankly, disgusting act of criminal damage that could have caused injury to local children and young people who use the play area.
"Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team have been conducting patrols in the area and speaking to local residents and I would like to thank everyone who has so far assisted with our enquiries.”
Police are appealing for witnesses or information following the incident. Anyone with information, including anyone driving overnight on those dates who may have dash cam footage of suspicious activity, is urged to speak to the officers on patrol or contact Suffolk Police quoting 37/55944/21.
