Youngsters have been making the most of an unprecedented mild spell of weather.
Scores of visitors took advantage of the sunshine at Belle Vue Park in Sudbury during the half-term holidays last week.
Nikky Layzell, who runs the Cabin, serving refreshments and ice creams from a kiosk in the park, praised the positive atmosphere.
“It’s been incredible,” she said, adding that the green space attracted a range of visitors.
“That’s the beauty of the park – it offers so much to many ages.”
Plans to build a hotel on a plot of land on the site have been proposed in Babergh District Council’s Vision for Prosperity document – a blueprint setting out how Sudbury and the surrounding area will develop in the future.
Concerns about the impact the plans could have on the green space have been raised by visitors.
“I’ve had people asking if we should have a petition,” said Nikky.
District Councillors Luke Cresswell and John Nunn are spearheading a campaign against the proposals and have organised for a rally to set off from the main entrance on April 6 at 10am.
