Long Melford Taste of East Anglia – formerly Taste of Sudbury – food and drink festival reveals line up

A popular food and drink festival returning to Long Melford in June has announced its line up of chefs.

Taste of East Anglia – formerly Taste of Sudbury – will be in the grounds of Kentwell Hall on June 15.

Festival organiser Justine Paul said: “We’ve always focussed on showcasing the best local chefs and artisan producers on our kitchen stage and this year is no different, but it is probably the most exciting line up for many years.

“These chefs are a perfect fit for the Taste of East Anglia. They represent all the best values of our local food and drink scene, which this festival will always want to champion.”

Freddie Fallon, of The Bildeston Crown, is making his festival debut, blending Asian influences into produce from Nedging Hall Estate.

Lark restaurant owner James Carn – named by The Good Food Guide as a chef to watch – is returning to the festival.

The kitchen theatre will showcase the skills of Lee Cooper, head chef at Squires at Bedford Lodge Hotel; Sam Sturman, former Suffolk chef of the year and now head chef at The Bull, at Troston; and Greg Strolenberg, of Lavenham Butchers. It will be headed and compered by Jon Jackaman, of Infusions and ICE, in Bury St Edmunds.

Tickets cost £6 for adults, with 17 years and under free, and can be purchased by going online to www.tasteofeastanglia.co.uk.

The event runs from 10am to 5pm, with free parking. Dogs are welcome.
