A farmers’ market specialist has made it into the top 100 most-loved businesses across the country.

Suffolk Market Events owner Justine Paul, who runs monthly farmers’ markets in Sudbury, Lavenham and Nayland, has reached 83rd in a nationwide shortlist.

Justine has most recently revived Nayland’s farmers’ market, which was on the brink of closure in October last year.

She said: “Being among the top 100 most-loved businesses is incredible.

“To win the title of the most local and loved in the Sudbury area is testament to the amazing support the farmers’ markets receive from the local community.”

Running throughout January, businesses were ranked according to the number of reviews left by customers on the Best of Sudbury website.

Suffolk Market Events received 98 reviews from customers and producers who use the markets.

Justine added: “It has taken a huge amount of hard work and determination to get the farmers’ markets to where they are today.

“I’d like to thank every single person who took the time to write a review.”

Local marketing specialist Penny Wilby, who runs the Best of Sudbury site, said she was delighted to see Suffolk Market Events make it into the top 100.

She said that, as well as the produce on offer, the markets have a positive impact in the local area by bringing rural communities together.

She added: “The quality and quantity of reviews sent in singing the praises of Suffolk Market Events is testimony, not only to how good the farmers markets and workshops are, but how loved they are, too.”
