A notice pinned in the window of the premises states that the pub has now been closed for the foreseeable future following this incident.

The owner wrote: "We are sorry for any inconvenience but since the unfortunate incident on March 19th this year trade has fallen to such a low we cannot substantiate staying open."

They thanked their loyal customers and apologised for the closure, but added there is 'no prospect' of the pub reopening 'anytime soon'.
