A1141 between Lavenham and Cockfield closed after bus crashes into ditch

A Suffolk road has been shut this evening after a bus, understood to have been carrying schoolchildren, crashed into a ditch.

Police were called to the single-vehicle collision, on the A1141 between Lavenham and Cockfield, at about 5.12pm.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said no injuries had been reported, and the road was closed while emergency services dealt with the crash.

Posts on social media suggested the bus had been carrying schoolchildren at the time of the accident, but that all involved were okay.

Drivers have been advised to find an alternative route.
