Sudbury branch among stores run by Caffé Nero offering free hot drinks to medical staff tackling Covid-19
Caffé Nero is providing free hot drinks to medical staff helping to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
The coffee shop chain, which operates a branch in North Street, is offering medical workers complimentary coffee, tea or hot chocolate in recognition of their efforts during the crisis.
Staff are being asked to present their medical ID before receiving their free drinks.
As part of measures to keep both customers and employees at Caffé Nero safe during the outbreak, the company said it is implementing strict hygiene standards.
While it hopes to remain open during the challenging time, the company is preparing to reduce its opening hours.
As a precaution, the chain is no longer accepting re-usable cups, but will continue to honour its bonus stamp scheme.
Customers are requested to pay by card or via the chain’s mobile app where possible to reduce the handling of cash.
The high street chain is exploring various delivery services to accommodate customers unable to visit its branches.
