Sudbury preparing to open gardens across town this weekend in support of charity
A returning open gardens event is being staged in Sudbury this weekend, in aid of a charity which supports people with long-term illnesses.
Visitors can explore up to 27 gardens across the two-day event on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1.
All proceeds from the event, which has been running for 30 years, will be donated to St Nicholas Hospice Care.
Attractions will include a jumble sale, various exhibitions and refreshments.
Maria Mills, managing director of Travel and Leisure Group, who has organised the event for the past 15 years, praised home owners for welcoming visitors to view their gardens.
“I’d like to thank all our 27 garden hosts in Sudbury and Cornard who make this annual event a success,” she said. “Our hospice needs all the help it can get.”
Saturday’s event runs between 1pm and 5pm, with gardens reopening on Sunday between 11.30am and 5pm.
Entry for adults is £3.50, while children are free.
Tickets are available from Sudbury Tourist Information Centre, Sudbury Town Hall and St Nicholas Hospice Care charity stores.
