Teen rebailed for second time following suspected arson at Delphi factory in Sudbury




A teenager who was arrested following a major fire at a disused factory has been rebailed for the second time.

The fire broke out at the Delphi factory in Newton Road, Sudbury, at around 5.10pm on Tuesday, May 28.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested the following day on suspicion of arson and was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.

He was initially bailed to return on Saturday, July 6, then he was rebailed to return to the police yesterday (Saturday, July 27).

A spokesperson for Suffolk Police has confirmed he has been rebailed for the second time to return on Sunday, August 25.

Delphi Diesel Systems closed the site in 2020 and, following the fire, the owner has revealed his £40 million plans to rejuvenate the site.

The investigation into the fire remains ongoing.
