Teenage boy arrested following alleged sexual assault in Hadleigh
A teenager has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault that took place in Hadleigh.
The offence was alleged to have occurred off Calais Street, near to the Morrisons supermarket, some time between 6pm and 10.30pm on Friday.
The incident was then reported to Suffolk Police on Saturday evening.
Subsequently, officers arrested a 14-year-old boy this morning, in relation to the offence.
He has been transported to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre to undergo questioning, where he remains.
The investigation is currently in its early stages, with a police scene in place at the alleyway where the assault allegedly happened.
The victim – a teenage girl – is also being supported by specialist trained officers.
Detectives would like to hear from anybody who was in the vicinity of Calais Street in Hadleigh during the times stated, who may have witnessed suspicious activity.
