The White Hart in Boxford, between Hadleigh and Sudbury, shuts until further notice

The landlords of a popular village pub are devastated as they announce it will shut until further notice – less than a year since the local came under new management.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, The White Hart in Boxford, between Hadleigh and Sudbury, has closed.

The pub was taken over by Tony and Rebecca Bayliss, of Spectre Leisure Ltd, in December last year.

In an emotional statement, Tony said: “I’m deeply saddened to announce that we are having to close The White Hart for the foreseeable future.

“Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of our control, we are devastated to announce this to you all.

“We'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our customers who have come through our doors at The White Hart.

“It has been fun and a great pleasure to serve you all over the past year, we hope to reopen the business in the near future.”

Tony said the pair worked tirelessly to prevent its closure.

However, he hoped this was a ‘see you soon and not goodbye’.

The family thanked punters for the memories, and hoped they could welcome them again at a later date.
