Transport charity Go Start is looking for more volunteers to join its driving team in Sudbury.

The community organisation provides vital transport services to pensioners, schoolchildren, community groups and people with disabilities around Sudbury and the surrounding villages.

Go Start founder John Phillips said many of the charity’s volunteers find their role “incredibly fulfilling”.

“Without us, many elderly and vulnerable people would struggle to make it to doctors’ appointments or to come into town to shop,” he said.

“Some schoolchildren and people with learning difficulties wouldn’t be able to travel to their schools or day centres.”

Volunteer driver candidates must aged 21 or over and have held a clean UK driving licence for a minimum of two years.

The charity is also looking for passenger assistants. For more details, call 01787 242116.
