Trolley dash competition at QD in Hadleigh earns early Christmas haul for lucky shopper

A quick-stepping Hadleigh shopper enjoyed an early Christmas present, after bagging a trolley full of festive goodies in a discount retailer’s seasonal prize draw.

Retail chain QD (Quality Discounts) has been staging a trolley dash competition for reward card holders, who were entered into a prize draw each time they made a purchase in store throughout October.

The draw enabled winning customers to dash around their local QD branch and fill their shopping trolley with products on the shelves in just one minute.

At the Hadleigh department store, located in Calais Street, Gill Noble was the lucky shopper, scooping a festive haul of toys, lights and decorations, worth £249.87, after completing her 60-second dash around the shop’s aisles.

Kay Jaynes, manager at QD Hadleigh, explained that the team was happy they could help to create a positive buzz at a time of financial hardship for many households.

“We were delighted to welcome Gill for the Christmas trolley dash,” she said. “The team here all cheered her on, as she stacked her trolley full of goodies.

“With so much in our Christmas department this year, it was hard to choose what to go for.

“It was a pleasure to help spread some Christmas cheer with this competition at a time when so many people are finding things tough, with the cost-of-living crisis and increased energy bills.

“We’re pleased to give this early Christmas present to Gill from the QD family to hers.”
