Veterans day out helps vital research
A group of military veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder spent the day with Lavenham Falconry, working with the University of Essex to assess activities which may alleviate symptoms faced by sufferers.
On Saturday, 10 military veterans took part in a day of archery, falconry and hunting in Monks Eleigh.
The participants completed psychometric tests and interviews – both before and after the day – to see how they responded.
Researcher Mark Wheeler and Dr Nick Cooper, from the department of psychology at the University of Essex, are leading the project, working closely with Veterans First and the North Essex Veterans Mental Health Network, which was established by North Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
