Witness appeal launched after man indecently exposes himself to woman in her 70s in Sudbury

Police are seeking witnesses to an instance of indecent exposure in Sudbury earlier this month.

The incident took place at noon on October 5, when the victim – a woman aged in her 70s – was walking along the towpath between Friars Meadow and Bakers Mill and encountered a man exposing himself and committing a lewd act.

The suspect is described as a white man with thick blond hair swept backwards, aged in his 50s and standing approximately six feet tall.

Officers subsequently arrested a man in relation to the incident yesterday and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, before he was released without charge.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police confirmed they are now appealing for witnesses who saw anybody acting suspiciously in Friars Meadow on October 5, or who saw anyone matching the description above, to come forward.
