Woman accused of pedestrian car death
A woman from Sudbury has appeared in court charged with causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving in a collision which killed a 74-year-old pedestrian.
Tracey Wright, of Cross Street, appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
The 49-year-old is accused of causing the death of Christine Ward on March 21 last year.
Wright is alleged to have been driving a Honda Jazz without due care and attention when it collided with the pedestrian in Head Lane, Great Cornard.
Mrs Ward, from Great Cornard, who was attempting to cross the road at the time of the collision, died en route to West Suffolk Hospital.
The case was sent for trial at Ipswich Crown Court. A preliminary hearing is due to take place on February 19.
Wright was released on unconditional bail.
