Car enters river off Wick Road in Stoke By Nayland as woman in 40s manages to escape




A woman has escaped from a car after it entered a river in a village on the Suffolk border.

Fire crews were called to Wick Road in Stoke By Nayland at 1.18pm to reports that a car had entered a river.

When they arrived, they found a woman, 42, had escaped the vehicle unharmed, but the car remained in the water.

Fire crews left the scene at 2.16pm, with the vehicle awaiting recovery.

Essex Police, who are managing the incident, have been contacted for comment.
