Jacob Brown has put pen to paper on a contract extension at Mildenhall Town.

The agreement between player and club was reached a few months ago, but the deal was not finalised until after last night’s 1-0 pre-season friendly defeat at the hands of AFC Sudbury.

“Jacob had an excellent season last year but still has a lot more room for improvement, both as a full-back and playing further forward,” manager Dean Greygoose wrote on the club’s website.

“Some of his attacking play last night (against Sudbury) was excellent and we will be trying to play him further forward at times.”

Brown joined Mildenhall 12 months ago from Diss Town, where he wore the captain’s armband.
