Davidson back at AFC
Midfielder Correy Davidson is set to return to AFC Sudbury, having agreed terms with manager Mark Morsley, writes Ken Watkins.
Davidson, previously at the club during the 2014/15 season, having moved from Ards, is in Ireland at present, but paperwork is expected to be completed in the next week.
Dublin-born Davidson spent last season with Coggeshall Town, while his previous clubs include Bishop’s Stortford, Heybridge Swifts, Grays Athletic and Waltham Forest.
Morsley came close last week to signing much-travelled striker Jamie Cureton, but the former Colchester United and Norwich City striker decided to remain with Bishop’s Stortford.
“It’s frustrating, but there are still ongoing negotiations with other strikers,” said Morsley, who is still looking to strengthen the club’s attacking options.
Callum Harrison, who joined AFC on loan from Needham Market last season, has now signed for the club.
Midfielder Ryan Horne has left, signing for local Bostik League North Division rivals Bury Town.
“It’s a good move for him,” said Morsley. “He didn’t quite hit the heights expected of him last season, and a new club could make a difference.”
AFC are home to Aveley on Sunday (3pm) in a pre-season training game.
