CRICKET ROUND-UP: Diss come out on top in derby
Diss claimed the bragging rights from their trip to local rivals Old Buckenham on Saturday afternoon courtesy of a 37-run victory.
Batting first, Diss made 273-8 from their 50 overs, thanks mainly to the performance of the Tooke brothers.
Robert Tooke (100) hit 13 fours and three sixes, while David Tooke added a further 93 runs.
In reply, Old Bucks skipper Terry Perry remained unbeaten throughout on 114, but his side could only put 236-5 on the board during their innings.
Elsewhere in the division, Garboldisham were beaten by four wickets away at Sprowston.
Meanwhile, in the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League, Bury St Edmunds and Vauxhall Mallards played out a draw.
There were defeats for Burwell and Woolpit, though, as they went down to Sudbury and Copdock respectively.
Burwell’s loss was particularly galling, given that they were bowled out for just 45 runs with none of their batsmen scoring double figures.
In the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division One. there was victories for Mildenhall and Worlington, but Halstead, Hadleigh and Haverhill all lost.
