ANOTHER DEFEAT: Daniel Pass goes in hunt of wickets as Haverhill lose again.
ANOTHER DEFEAT: Daniel Pass goes in hunt of wickets as Haverhill lose again.

Haverhill’s losing run of form in the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship Division One extended to four matches after their encounter with high-flying Wivenhoe on Saturday.

It was the away side’s overseas player Jonty Rushton that made much of the difference as he scored a century to help Wivenhoe post 294-7.

In reply, Haverhill skipper Adam Dellar racked up another half-century, but his team could only muster 179-6 as the Essex outfit ran out victors by 115 runs.

Elsewhere in the division, Steve Taylor produced a knock of 96 runs as Mildenhall remained top thanks to a six-wicket win away at Hadleigh.

There was also a victory for Worlington, who eased to a 114-run triumph at the expense of Halstead.

In the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League, Bury drew with Copdock, while the fixtures involving Woolpit and Sudbury were abandoned due to the rain.

Diss lost by 83 runs to Downham in the Dipple and Conway Opticians Norfolk Cricket Alliance Premier Division, but there was better news for Garboldisham as they came out on top against North Runcton.

However, Old Buckenham’s clash with Brooke fell victim to the wet conditions.
