FA Cup draw: Mildenhall Town to face AFC Sudbury while Felixstowe & Walton United, Lowestoft Town and Stowmarket Town all face away trips

Mildenhall Town’s reward for Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup 1-0 derby victory over Lakenheath is a home first qualifying round tie against higher-league AFC Sudbury.

Phil Weavers’ side, who have now reached this stage of the competition for a fourth season in a row, saw off neighbouring Lakenheath thanks to Ben Nolan’s stoppage-time winner.

And they will now seek to advance through to the second qualifying round of the world’s most famous tournament for the fifth time in the club’s history when Marc Abbott’s Yellows make the trip to The Riverside Stadium on Saturday, September 2.

Fellow Suffolk outfit Sudbury have a decent recent pedigree in the competition following their famous run to the first round proper two seasons ago when they faced Colchester United live in front of the BBC Sport cameras.

Elsewhere, last season’s first round proper appearance-makers Needham Market will be on the road at lower-level FC Romania, while Leiston will play host to St Ives.

Felixstowe & Walton United, Lowestoft Town and Stowmarket Town will all have to overcome away trips if they are to extend their interest in this term’s competition. Felixstowe will take on either Bowers & Pitsea or Woodford Town, Jamie Godbold’s Lowestoft are set to head to Essex to face Canvey Island and Stowmarket will also travel to the same county to lock horns with Billericay Town.

All ties are scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 2.
