Bowlers set to miss Frinton trip
Sudbury look set to go into Saturday’s Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League game at Frinton minus two front-line bowlers (11am), writes Ken Watkins.
Jonny Gallagher is unavailable, and Dustin Melton, who missed the victory against Burwell & Exning with a shoulder injury, remains doubtful.
Melton was injured at Copdock, landing on his right shoulder diving to take a catch.
Sudbury are 56 points ahead of second-placed Swardeston, and 65 points ahead of fourth-placed Frinton, but club captain Darren Batch says there will be no complacency.
“We want to maintain that gap for as long as we can, or extend it,” he said.
“Frinton are chock-full of good players, so it will not be an easy game.”
Sudbury’s batting line-up has been strengthened, former Copdock player Martyn Cull making his debut against Burwell.
“He is a huge addition to the squad,” added Batch.
