Memorial meet to be held in memory of Dave Roper
Preparations are in hand for the Dave Roper Memorial Trailcross/Scramble Enduro on Sunday, April 19 at Tye Farm, Great Cornard.
Last year Sudbury Motor Cycle Club could not run a Motocross so they adapted the old style Trailcross into an Enduro format, which proved a great success, so they have decided to run this type of event again.
The event is open to Championship, Expert, Clubman, Evo, Twinshock and Pre-65 Classes and so far there have been 50 entries across the classes.
More information will be available next week, but one thing is certain – there will be a cake stall which last year raised £200 for the Dave Roper Memorial Fund.
n Halstead and District Motorcycle Club stages its first meeting of the motocross season on Sunday at Wakes Colne, round one of the Eastern Centre Solo MX Championship.
Club riders Bradley Tomlin, Jason Morland and Brendon Mayers will be in the field of 40.
The Junior Championship has attracted more than 100 entries, so heats will be necessary.
Practice starts at 10am, with the first race scheduled for 11.30am.
Admission is £10 for adults, with concessions for children.
Halstead and DMCC riders had to take a back seat at the Woodbridge and DMCC motocross meeting at Blaxhall.
Lewis Tombs was ninth overall in the Experts, but Tomlin and Morland failed to make the top ten.
After missing most of last season Robert Nicholl was 20th overall, with Mayers 21st.
But in the Juniors Nathan Attwood was third overall in Group B, and Vince Pryke fourth in Group C.
