AFC Sudbury have announced that Craig Parker has agreed terms on a deal for the 2016-17 campaign.

With the challenge of emulating that feat in the Ryman League Premier Division ahead of him, the former Bury Town and Leiston player has opted to remain at the Wardale Williams Stadium.

Meanwhile, young Sudbury defender Stefano Mallardo was named the Suffolk FA’s Under-18 Player of the Season at an awards evening on Saturday.

Mallardo, 18, was captain of the side that was managed by Sudbury assistant Andy Reynolds, who recently stepped down from the position.

Elsewhere in the Ryman League, Bury Town youngster Will Gardner has moved to Soham Town Rangers.

The 18-year-old left-back only arrived at Ram Meadow from Haverhill Rovers in March, but he will begin the new season in Cambridgeshire.

Meanwhile, Premier Division Needham Market have announced that former Leiston and Bury Town manager Richard Wilkins is to be Mark Morsley’s assistant manager heading into the 2016/17 season.

The Bloomfields club had announced that Kevin Horlock would return to take up the post but just a few weeks after the former Ipswich Town midfielder was announced as the new manager at Maldon

and Tiptree, which he will combine with the role of assistant manager of Colchester United’s Under-21s.
