Success for TriSudbury
TRISudbury members had an exciting weekend appearing in Nottingham, Eton Dorney and Ipswich over Saturday and Sunday.
The weekend started with four members racing in Nottingham at the ETU Sprint Qualifiers, which consisted of a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km event.
The quartet of Alex Williamson, Sarah Boxall, Phil Tetley and Sue Tetley produced some great times for TRISudbury.
Saturday evening saw five members post excellent results in the Stradbroke Triathlon, which included a 160m swim, 16km cycle and 3km run.
The club’s chairman, Mark Smith, won the triathlon with a fantastic time of 44 minutes and 25 seconds.
Laura Stanton-Davis, Carlene Hare and Debbie Harman all competed with great times and achieving personal bests, while Gail Forster won her age group.
On Sunday, TRISudbury had seven members competing in the Ipswich Triathlon, which was a sprint triathlon of a 300m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run.
Simon Daniel, Fiona Storey and Ian Ledieu all recorded age group wins, while Duncan Cox, Jessie Humphries, Lindsay Hobden and Emma Thistleton all achieved great times.
TRISudbury were also away at the Eaton Dorney ITU Sprint Qualifier, which included a 750m swim, 21.2km cycle and 5km run and was completed by Dawn Buckland and Nicky Daly-Ashworth.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Shaun Boldock completed the Notting Outlaw Half Ironman, a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle and 13.1 mile run.
It was his first half ironman and his family were there to support him to a time of eight hours and 26 minutes.
TRISudbury, who won the British Triathlon East Region Club of the Year in 2016, will be holding a triathlon on June 17.
