THURLOW NUNN TRANSFER NEWS: Newmarket add two more
Newmarket Town’s busy pre-season has continued with the addition of two more players, taking the total number of incomings since the end of last term to seven.
Charlie Bowen and Austen Diaper, both of whom played for Godmanchester Rovers during 2015-16, are the latest duo to have signed on the dotted line at the Ridgeons Stadium.
Bowen operates in the centre of defence, while Diaper can play anywhere across the frontline.
It is the second time this summer that the Jockeys have raided fellow Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Goddy, having earlier swooped for central midfielder Jack Watson.
Matt Hayden, Ben Nower, James Chivers and Lewis Whitehead are the other new faces that have agreed to link up with Kevin Grainger’s men.
Meanwhile, newly-promoted Ely City have bolstered their squad for the upcoming campaign by signing George Darling from neighbours Soham Town Rangers.
The striker scored five goals from 33 outings for the Greens last term.
