VIDEO: Ryan Henshaw on AFC Sudbury’s FA Cup win
AFC Sudbury defender Ryan Henshaw felt The Yellows’ 4-0 FA Cup win over Ware on Saturday was well deserved, and was also delighted to register a first home clean sheet this season.
Henshaw was speaking to sports editor Russell Claydon following what turned into a comfortable passage into the first qualifying round of the FA Cup, to set-up a home tie with higher-league Hendon on September 12 (3pm).
Second-half goals from Sam Clarke (49), Craig Parker (penalty, 70) and an own goal from Paul Cooper (80) added to a further own goal from Jack Fowler in the 24th minute, which had seen AFC fortunate to go into the break 1-0 up.
The result came after back-to-back heavy home defeats on their new 3G pitch, making the clean sheet even more sweet for Henshaw and his defensive partners.
