To celebrate Gorilla Week at Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury in Kent, we’re giving one lucky winner the chance to enjoy a totally wild trip with family tickets.
During the school holidays, Howletts’ Wild Summer is shining the spotlight on a different species each week, giving visitors a chance to find out more about some of the park's most captivating animals.
From Monday, August 19 to Sunday, August 25 it’s Gorilla Week and, to celebrate, there will be a themed activity trail, free animal feeds, talks from the experts, free face painting (on Wednesdays only) and craft stations.
Your family ticket to Howletts will give two adults and two children a chance to see the park’s 390 animals and explore the 90-acre parkland including the Animals of the Ice Age trail and outdoor play areas.
And, as a special treat for Gorilla Week, our prize winners will also be treated to a Gorilla Encounter where you will get a guided tour, led by one of their expert keepers, and even have a chance to help feed the gorillas from the roof of their enclosure.
Howletts is home to the world's largest collection of western lowland gorillas and this encounter is a brilliant way to discover fascinating facts about the animals - for example, did you know that the gorillas' natural habitat is dense forests, or that they are almost entirely vegetarian?
