Framlingham beauty salon thief makes off with multiple iPhones

Police are making enquiries after a woman visited multiple Suffolk beauty salons before making off with the beauticians' mobile phones.

This week, police issued CCTV footage of a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the two incidents, which took place in Framlingham just before Christmas last year.

At around 4pm on Wednesday December 16, a woman entered The Retreat Beauty Salon, in Well Close Square asking for a nail appointment. Whist in the salon she distracted a member of staff before pocketing their iPhone 11 and making her escape.

Later the very same afternoon, a woman entered No10 Lash and Beauty Lounge, in Market Hill, where she distracted a member of staff before this time making off with an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The woman is described as white, had long black curly hair, and was wearing jeans and a white fluffy coat.

Police said that she spoke in a different language, which has been described as "possibly Italian", and she gave her name at the beauty salons as 'Maria'.

Officers would like to speak to the woman pictured in the CCTV image about the incidents as she may be able to help with the investigation.

Anyone who believes they recognise the woman pictured in the CCTV image, or who has any information about these incidents, is asked to contact Suffolk police.
