Thetford drug dealer Brendan Garcia jailed for five and a half years
A Thetford dealer believed to be responsible for running a prominent drug line has been jailed.
Brendan Garcia, 22, of St. Albans Way, was sentenced to five and a half years in prison at Norwich Crown Court on July 23.
He had previously pleaded guilty to six cocaine and cannabis related offences, namely two counts of possession of a class B drug; two counts of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug; being concerned in the supply of a class A drug and being concerned in fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on importation of a class B drug.
Garcia’s home was raided on August 9 last year as intel led officers to believe he was responsible for running the MK drug line, the court was told.
A mobile phone was seized, with text messages linked to the bulk sale of drugs.
A second raid took place at the same address on March 5, which led to £500, a mobile phone and a small amount of cannabis being seized.
This phone further linked Garcia to drug supply and showed him importing cannabis on a large scale, the court heard.
Garcia was then arrested and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
He was then charged and remanded in custody ahead of a court appearance.
Investigating Officer PC Edward Crickitt said: “Norfolk Constabulary works hard to disrupt drug lines operating within our county.
“We are dedicated to tackling the issue of drug criminality and will continue to make Norfolk an uncomfortable place for drug dealers to operate.”
