Could signs mean a Netflix movie crew is set to film at Elveden Hall, near Thetford?
A Suffolk estate’s hall with a long history of being a movie set could once again be welcoming a crew for filming next week.
Elveden Estate, near Thetford, has had signs up directing people to its hall since Monday, as equipment was believed to have been put in place for a possible Netflix film.
Little is known about the new project set to use the Grade II listed building, but it is not the first time the site has featured on films and TV.
Netflix spy thriller film Heart of Stone, starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan was shot on the estate in 2022, it featured in 2001’s Tomb Raider starring Angelina Jolie, Stanley Kubrick's 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman and in 1987 James Bond film The Living Daylights shot scenes there.
The hall was also featured in parts of the second series of The Crown, a piece for an adaptation of Ben Macintyre’s best-selling book SAS: Rogue Heroes was filmed there in 2021 and in 2022, filming for the third season of Channel 4's hit TV show, The Great, was said to have taken place on the site.
