Crash in Thetford near Brandon Road roundabout causes road closure

A driver suffered serious injuries after a crash in a town this morning which caused a road closure.

Police were called at 5.40am today to reports of a collision between a HGV and a car on the A134 in Thetford, near Brandon Round roundabout, with the road closed both ways from the A11 to Redcastle Road.

A driver suffered serious injuries, including injuries to their shoulders, with an ambulance called to the scene of the incident as well as the fire service.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Police said traffic had to be rerouted which caused tailbacks in the area.

Recovery arrived at 6.45am and the process of reopening the road began at 8.10am.
