Brandon pavement sinkhole in St Benedicts Road has reached 20cm wide and is more than 30cm deep




A sinkhole which has appeared in a Suffolk pavement has been causing concern.

Pictures show the hole in St Benedicts Road, Brandon.

According to nearby residents it has now reached 20cm wide and is more than 30cm deep.

Jon Stone, who has reported the sinkhole said: “I noticed a crack the other week.

“So, it probably appeared around one and a half weeks ago and then it dipped around Monday or Tuesday last week, and then Saturday it had all dropped in.

“It’s the far end of St Benedicts Road on the path.

“It is big enough to step in. I have reported it.

“It's approximately 20cm wide and is 30 plus cm deep.”

Other Brandon residents raised concerns it could be dangerous for pedestrians.

Suffolk Highways has been approached for comment.
