Fire crews continue to investigate fire at Camstar Herbs in Langton Green, Eye, that saw fifteen fire trucks battle an overnight blaze




Fire crews are investigating the cause of a blaze in an industrial dryer unit that saw more than a dozen fire crews called last night.

15 fire trucks from across the county, as well as from Norfolk, were called to Langton Green in Eye, near Diss, at 7.40pm yesterday, when a fire was reported at Camstar Herbs, herbs and spices factory.

A 25m x 30m unit was described as '100 per cent involved in fire' and crews battled the blaze for over five hours.

The fire was extinguished at 1.19am this morning.

Fire crews monitored the scene until 6am, and are set to return for re-inspection at 9am.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue said: “Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, along with colleagues from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire at an industrial drier unit in Eye yesterday evening.

"Over the course of the night firefighters were able to bring the fire under control and eventually extinguish it.

"The cause of the fire is currently unknown and an investigation will begin in due course.
"Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service would like to thank colleagues from partner organisations, including the Environment Agency and the Police, for their assistance in dealing with this incident.”
