Fire affecting 60,000sq metres of land in Thetford Forest vanquished by firefighters




A fire affecting an area of 60,000 sq m of forest in Suffolk was put out by multiple fire crews earlier today.

Five pumps were called to the fire in Marks Lane, Santon Downham, part of Thetford Forest, after being alerted at 2.41pm.

Crews successfully worked to get the incident, which affected an are measuring 200m by 200m, under control.

The incident was declared closed at 5.18pm.
