Thetford hair colourist and educator Rachael Lomax, of Copper Queen, hopes to support other professionals in the industry

A hair colourist and educator is hoping to support follow professionals with a new scheme.

Rachael Lomax, who runs Copper Queen, in Admirals Way, Thetford, hopes to support self-employed hair stylists by providing an fully equipped professional space where they can grow their businesses and serve clients in a ‘high-end environment’.

She will also offer mentoring and social media support through her ‘rent-a-chair’ scheme.

Rachael Lomax, who specialises in the colour copper, said: “I am thrilled to offer this opportunity to local hair professionals.

“The goal is to create a space where freelance stylists can focus on their craft, build their client base, and grow their business without the burden of high rent or startup costs.

“This is about empowering stylists to thrive on their own terms and a great chance to bring their creative vision to life.

“I believe that by supporting each other, we can all grow together, and this initiative is our way of giving back to the incredible talent in our local community.”

The salon already has multiple hair colourists and stylists throughout the week on rota.

The new initiative is part of her wider campaign of support for younger hair professionals within the area, working with West Suffolk College and offering tutoring and courses.

Rachael also runs a series of courses on the colour copper.

Anyone interested should contact the salon directly.
