Elveden Church of England Primary Academy, near Thetford, retains 'outstanding' Ofsted status

A headteacher says she is ‘delighted’ after an Ofsted report saw her primary school retain its ‘outstanding’ status.

Elveden CofE Primary Academy, near Thetford, was visited earlier this month by inspectors who noted children loved going into school and were taught to be curious and try their best.

They also noted an ‘ambitious’ curriculum, which was re-organised in spring 2020 and was taught in a logical order.

Lorna Rourke, headteacher, said she was 'delighted' with the news.

“It is testament to the hard work of staff and the wonderful children and families we have here at Elveden,” she said.

“It has been a particularly challenging year due to the pandemic and everyone has worked together to ensure that children continued to receive the very best education they could.
