Red Rooster festival at Euston Hall, near Thetford, announces full lineup its 10th anniversary including The Clash bassist, Paul Simonon
A popular Suffolk soul, blues and country music event has revealed its full lineup for its 10th anniversary year – which includes the bassist from The Clash and a blind pianist who has performed for Muhammad Ali.
Red Rooster 2024 at Euston Hall, near Thetford, between May 30 and June 1, will see the first festival appearance for duo, Galen & Paul – made up of of Paul Simonon, previously of the 70s and 80s punk rock band, and celebrated solo artist and multi-instrumentalist Galen Ayers.
The event will also host the final UK festival headline performance from American country music act, Asleep at the Wheel, who have been part of the American roots’ music landscape for more than 50 years and have won 10 Grammys.
Also announced to take to the stage at Red Rooster will be 17-year-old picking guitarist and singer, Muireanne Bradley.
Following her standout performance on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny and hitting the number one spot on the UK album download charts, the artist from Ireland will bring country and ragtime blues to the festival.
Other highlights from today’s announcement include New Orleans and Memphis music group Take Me To The River which features original members of The High Rhythm Section which played on every one of Al Green’s records, folk-psych-country band The Hanging Stars returning to Euston Hall and Autistic savant and blind pianist, Derek Paravicini who has performed at Buckingham Palace and twice for Muhammad Ali.
As well as the music, the festival has teamed up with award-winning Barbecue specialists Meat Street BBQ, offering a sit-down banquet on each day of the festival.
