New hair and beauty salon Hey Good Lookin’ opens in Brandon High Street to delight of owner Izzy Sheppard

A 22-year-old beauty therapist said she is delighted and proud after opening a salon in a Suffolk town.

Izzy Sheppard welcomed customers to Hey Good Lookin’ in Brandon High Street for the first time on June 4 and has enjoyed a very busy first week.

The beauty therapist had been self-employed at Katie’s Boutique, also in Brandon, for the past five years but decided to begin a fresh journey several months ago.

“I felt that it was time to venture off and make something of myself so now I am really proud and delighted that I have my own salon,” Izzy said.

“I do a lot of competitions that I work really hard for and I am happy to say I won them so I felt that owning my own salon was the next step.

“The first week of opening has been brilliant and the support has just been so overwhelming. The amount of people who have stopped by to have a look around, book appointments and to congratulate me has been crazy.

“I am incredibly grateful to all my clients that have followed me throughout my journey and opening Hey Good Lookin’ has truly been the best thing I’ve ever accomplished.”

Izzy has been in the hair and beauty industry since 2018 and will be offering a range of treatments such as lash extensions, hair services, waxing, nails and more.

The salon, which only took two weeks to decorate and design, will be open from Tuesday to Saturday.

Izzy said the support she received, particularly from her family, helped to ease her nerves in the lead up to the launch of her salon.

“It’s been amazing as I’ve had so much support, love and kindness from everyone in Brandon and the surrounding area which has made the nerves for opening completely disappear.

“My family have been my biggest supporters. Without them encouraging me to do my best, coming with me to all my competitions and shows, and giving me all the confidence to be successful, the salon wouldn’t be open today.

“I will be forever grateful for the support everyone has given me.”
