A11 shut southbound between B1077 in Attleborough and B1111 in East Harling, near Thetford, after tree falls across road in crash




A section of a key route is closed due to a crash which resulted in a tree falling across the carriageway.

The A11 in Norfolk is shut southbound between the B1077 in Attleborough and the B1111 in East Harling after the incident at about 5.39am.

Norfolk Police has attended and National Highways contractors will help with clear-up works.

Traffic is being diverted at the scene.

An official diversion route is in place for those approaching from further:

- At the A11/A47 Thickthorn Interchange take the A47 eastbound.

- Exit the A47 eastbound at the next junction (with the A140) and take the 5th exit onto the A140 southbound towards Ipswich.

- Remain on the A140 for approximately 32 miles, passing through Newton Flotman, Long Stratton and Scole, to reach the A14 J51 Beacon Hill Interchange.

- At the Beacon Hill Interchange take the third exit and then the first right to join the A14 westbound.

- Continue on the A14 westbound to J38 where it meets the A11.
