Bradley Thorpe, connected to Norfolk and Suffolk, jailed for three years at Cambridge Crown Court for assault of woman in Feltwell
A man who punched, bit and strangled a woman has been jailed for three years.
Bradley Thorpe, 32, of no fixed address but with Suffolk and Norfolk connections, was jailed for three years at Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday for causing actual bodily harm.
He was also handed a concurrent 18-month sentence for intentional strangulation.
Thorpe’s offending related to one victim and took place in Feltwell in November.
He was physically violent towards her and, after an argument, punched her repeatedly, bit her nose and strangled her.
In a victim statement read to the court, she said: “In such a short time span I have been made into a shadow of myself. I honestly wished on occasions that I was dead and I never let him in my life.
“I am petrified to speak with people or introduce anyone new into my life over fear they could repeat what Bradley has done.”
Thorpe was made the subject a criminal behaviour order for 20 years to prevent any further violence against women.
It stated he must stop all contact and communication as soon as it is requested by any woman in England and Wales.
After he was sentenced, Sgt Donna Wiseman from the operational partnership team said: “Thorpe’s offending was incredibly violent and has deeply affected the victim and her day-to-day life. I would like to commend her for her bravery in supporting this process and reporting it to us.
“Norfolk Police will always support victims and thoroughly investigate any report we receive. We will work to do whatever we can to bring offenders to justice.”
