Thetford man left with serious head injury following suspected assault

A suspected assault on a man in Thetford, leaving him with a serious head injury, has police appealing for witnesses, information or footage of the incident.

The victim, in his 50s, was found in Mill Lane between 6.25pm and 6.40pm on August 4.

The police believed it was an assault and following enquiries arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and public order offences in Thetford.

He was subsequently released on police bail to appear at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre on Wednesday September 1.
