Cleancube staff help air ambulance attend injured man in Brandon

A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital after an air ambulance was called to a site in Brandon yesterday.

At about 1pm, an East Anglia Air Ambulance was called to the Richmond Road and Highbury Road area.

Michael and Ash Burton, who run a Cleancube yard in the area, helped the helicopter land so paramedics could attend to a man who had an accident.

Michael said: “The air ambulance was hovering and had nowhere to land so we got access to a yard at the back to allow it to land, right next to where the injured person was.

“From there, they attended him and took him to hospital.”

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “A crew from Anglia Two (Cambridge) was tasked to Brandon to assist the East of England Ambulance Service with a man in his 40s who had suffered an accidental injury.

“Doctor Meghan and Critical Care Paramedic Gary gave the patient a full assessment and provided enhanced pre-hospital care at the scene, including administering advanced pain relief.

“The EAAA crew then accompanied the man by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for further treatment.”
