Fire crews from Brandon, Mildenhall, Thetford, Methwold and Downham Market called to house blaze in Brandon




Multiple fire crews were called to a blaze at the front door of a house in a town with a person treated for breathing in smoke.

Firefighters were called at 6.31pm yesterday to a house in Sweden Place, Brandon, and upon arrival discovered smoke issuing from the front door of the property.

The blaze was extinguished using one hose reel jet by firefighters in breathing equipment, before crews then assisted with scene safety.

It was initially believed that people were in the property but it was established that this was not the case and all occupants were accounted for.

One person was treated by the ambulance service for breathing in smoke with police also at the scene of the incident.

Engines from Brandon and Mildenhall attended, along with appliances from Methwold, Thetford and Downham Market stations from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighters left the scene by 9.07pm.
