Plans for Center Parcs Elveden Forest ZipZag ride submitted to West Suffolk Council
A new zip line ride could be built at a Center Parcs in Suffolk after plans were submitted to a council.
Proposals from Simon Evans, which were validated by West Suffolk Council on Monday, detailed the parameters of a new ZipZag ride at Elveden Forest, near Thetford.
This course is similar to a roller coaster, with twists and turns, but instead of being in a cart, riders hang from a zip line.
The ZipZag company already has one of its rides at another UK venue – Gulliver’s Kingdom, in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire.
The new course would be towards the centre of the holiday village, at the western edge of the main lake.
It would have a spiral tower that would be used for both the start and finish of the ride.
Drawings detailed a landing ramp for the end of the ride and the course would cover a circular route.
The plans said no demolition would be required to build the course.
The site compound and storage areas would be on the existing bicycle park.
The applicant commissioned an arboricultural survey to support the plans.
