Pictures released from Brandon Country Park, in Bury Road, wildfire




Pictures from the scene of a wildfire at a country park have been released.

SuffolkNews reported yesterday fire crews were at the scene of a 30,000sqm blaze at Brandon Country Park, in Bury Road.

The fire service was alerted to the incident at 12.18pm.

Around 100 metres by 300 metres were alight.

Crews from Brandon, Mildenhall, Newmarket, Clare, Thetford and Methwold attended the scene, as well as a water bowser from the racing town.

Firefighters used several hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.

The team from Brandon visited the site later in the evening to check for hot spots.
