Thetford Forest named second best place in UK to go for a mindful walk
A popular town forest has been named the second best place in the UK to go for a mindful walk.
To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, research by Millets has revealed Thetford Forest as one of the best spots in the country for a relaxing and peaceful stroll.
Thetford Forest, which is the UK's largest manmade lowland forest, received a mindful score of 8.19 out of 10.
A Millets spokesperson said: “Just north of Suffolk, the pine forest’s woodland paths provide a peaceful space for walking and the wide variety of tree species make for impressive views.
“The forest is home to a diverse range of wildlife, and visitors can often spot deer and listen to the sound of birds, making it the perfect destination to disconnect from any stresses.
“With four different trails to choose from, visitors can tailor their walk to suit their preferences.”
Taking the top spot for the best place to go for a mindful walk in the UK was Bamburgh Beach in Northumberland with a score of 8.6.
Making up the rest of the top three In third place, was the Tolkien Trail in Lancashire which received a score of 7.67.
